Poliwater will make orthopedists’ work easier
Beata Kroczek thanks to the investment of the Scanderia Venture Fund and the support of the Ślisz-Sandecka Kozioł & Partnerzy Law Firm, will take another sure step to make medical care for limb injuries and fractures friendlier for patients and orthopedists.
Poliwater is a project that aims to develop a carrier and a curing substance based on a prepolymer with different curing times. The result will be an upper and lower limb immobilization cast made of knitted fabric with a mesh structure. It will be imbued with a prepolymer with a catalyst of different concentrations and cured under the influence of… water.
Importantly, the curing time will be tailored to the specific case by the orthopedist, giving the doctor time to work precisely with the limb. In addition, the Poliwater solution will be characterized by ease of molding, as it is soft and malleable in the initial stage of dressing development, as well as – lightweight and excellent ventilation. These two features, which have a huge impact on patient comfort, are impossible to achieve in commonly used, plaster dressings.
